In this music production workshop presented by Simonne Jones: expand the boundaries of your creative voice and knowledge of music production. Learn how to create a track with an industry experienced engineer/producer. Learn what happens in a professional writing session. Learn how to quickly develop the writing, production and building of a song in 3 hours or less for a high quality demo that sounds mixed.

This is a non-genre specific and hands on workshop focusing on a broad understanding of the various techniques involved in song production and writing using Ableton Live.

All levels welcome

We will have 2 sessions. Each session will last for 3 hours.

1st day (June 6):  16:00 – 19:00 (Saturday)
2nd day (June 7): 16:00 – 19:00 (Sunday)

about workshop facilitator:  Simonne Jones:
In Simonne Jones’ past life, she was a scientist. With a degree in biochemical engineering, she got a job working in an HIV research lab. But she wasn’t fulfilled. So she quit her job and moved to Africa on a grant to work on an HIV awareness campaign. It was there that she realised she wasn’t supposed to be a scientist at all.

Now, Simonne uses her background in scientific theory to write electro-pop songs that lyrically reference complex concepts like relativity and gravity while sounding both otherworldly and like a hymn you’ve always known.

She began playing piano at age 3, and started recording engineering classes at 14, and made her first beat for the artist Peaches. As a producer and writer she has caught the attention and collaborated with some of the industry’s most prolific pop writers including Liam Howe (Lana Del Rey), Sasha Skarbek (Adele), Jimmy Harry (Madonna), David Kosten (Bat for Lashes), Kid Harpoon (Florence and the Machine), and Martin McKinney (The Weeknd). She’s produced tracks for Peaches, Rea Garvey (certified Gold), and dozens of  some the most promising underground electronic pop artists. She is quickly becoming one of the most in demand producers in the underground scene in Berlin.
